Reading For Fun

I love to read. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because no one forced me to read when I was younger, and whenever I didn't like a book, I could abandon it.

I know many of you do not enjoy reading. That's fair. I'll try to change your mind, and I'll start with sharing some of my favorite books:

Silent Sustained Reading (SSR):

Most days in class, we will have time for students to read books that they have chosen. For the first six weeks, I have pre-selected books for students to read in groups of five. All of these books have been very popular with your peers, and I think students will enjoy them. However, if you truly despise all 12 of these books then I am open to negotiation

Students will read two books during the first six weeks. Each of these books comes from the Virginia Choice Readers List and have been read by Lord Botetourt's Summer Reading Committee. The books are split into two groups and students must choose one book from each group.
