SAP Basis and Security

My Basis experience is primarily with ECC 6.0, BI, PI/XI, and Solution Manager. I also have taken on Security and Compliance roles within these systems, and currently maintain roles/authorization objects within our environment. In this section, I’ve listed examples of things I’ve found helpful. Topics range from Pre-Calc troubleshooting to ICM resets and typical refresh practices. A lot of the things I’ve learned have come from other people and I’ve linked to their original content wherever possible.

SharePoint

One of my roles has been to be the SharePoint administrator. This includes maintaining the front-end by working with the Business to create sites/libraries/authorization groups, etc. It also includes working with a the development and infrastructure team to maintain the back-end through Central Administration, the SQL Server databases, and various server aspects. Major projects include a database migration, TLS upgrades, and planning to migrate the farm to O365.

In this section, I’ve outlined helpful PowerShell scripts and other SharePoint administration tasks. A lot of the things listed here, I learned from other people and I have linked to their original content whenever possible.

SQL Server on Premise and in Azure

While I’m not a DBA, through the years I’ve taken on additional responsibilities with SQL Server including being responsible for backups of SAP systems and creating a jobs schedule in Azure through configuring the Elastic Job Agent. For SQL Server, there are so many helpful resources like SQL Authority and Brent Ozar. However, my best learning experiences have come from things like SQL Saturday and Chicago Suburban SQL Server Group. I’ve listed things that I’ve learned and linked to helpful resources in this section.
